Shockpads

In situ shockpad being installed Shockpads can be installed on site (in situ shockpads) or brought to site ready made (preformed shockpads). Playdeck Sports offer both types.

In Situ Shockpads

The introduction of a rubber mat between the stone or macadam base and the artificial grass carpet provides comfort for players, shock absorbtion that reduces the risk of injury and the creation defined playing characteristics for specific sports.

Playdeck Sports Ltd are one of the largest installers of shockpads and shock absorbing systems in the UK.

Shockpads can be supplied in a range of thicknesses with compositions chosen for particular charcteristics. They can be installed over engineered or dynamic bases.

Preformed Shockpads

An alternative to an in situ shockpad is the installation of preformed shockpads.

These comprise sheets of resilient, shock-absorbing materials produced under factory controlled conditions.

The sheets are usually installed by fixing at the butt-joined edges and/or by adhering the preformed shockpad to the base formation (often porous tarmac).

An advantage of pre-formed shockpads is the consistency of product. They are however more costly.
