Outdoor and Indoor Surfaces for MUGAs

Multi-Use Games Area in synthetic grass There is a wide choice of surfaces for multi-use sports surfaces.

The actual choice will depend on many factors. These include the main activities to be played and the budget available.

It should be noted that certain types of surface are more suitable for particular sports. It is also the case that certain sports cannot be played on some types of surface. Indeed, the result of combining the wrong activity with an unsuitable surface can be dangerous.

Line Marking

Permanent line marking can be applied to all these types of surfaces in the forms of either cut in or painted lines.

Cut in lines on synthetic grass are permanent lines that are cut into the pitch. Using a wide backing tape under the joint of 2 adjacent grass strips, both edges are then bonded to the backing tape to form a continuous seam.

Playing lines can be painted onto most surfaces. The choice of colour is important and advice can be given on suitable colour combinations for the included sports played. The most common options are:

Primary sport - White
Second Sport - Yellow
Third - Blue
Fourth - Red
